Gulfstream was once an elementary school that was shut down due to lack of funding. Layne Polikolf and Laurie Cannon were assigned to revamp the school, with no budget, staff, or furniture.

Gulfstream was reopened this school year, and as welcomed its first four classes, new programs, and sponsors. The transformation can only credited to the dedicated staff working at this school, and the South plantation interns are grateful to have been given the chance to intern there, and are proud to have left their mark on the school.
